Dr. Boyun Guo is the Director of the Center for Optimization of Petroleum Systems at the Energy Institute of Louisiana and Chevron-Endowed Professor at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Previously, he worked as a TechTEAM leader for EPS Americas. Guo’s research interest is in development of unconventional hydrocarbon resources and CO2 underground-storage. He authored over 200 technical papers and 10 books. Guo is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the SPE Central/Southeastern North America Region Production and Operations Award, SPE Eastern Region Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty, and UL Lafayette Distinguished Professor Award. Guo holds a B.S. degree from Daqing Petroleum Institute, an M.S. degree from Montana Tech, and a Ph.D. degree from New Mexico Tech, all in Petroleum Engineering.
